Walk with your Watch, and see what it cost
Metrya 2.12.4 adds outdoor walks on Apple Watch and iPhone, with a summary next to your usual walk. Guided breathing now saves a workout to Apple Health. The meal logger suggests what you usually log together.
Start on your Watch or iPhone
Start from the + button, the Train tab, the Log and Start widgets, or the Walk page on the Watch. Metrya suggests a length from today's Reserve and a heart rate limit at the top of Zone 2.
More than heart rate and pace
Heart rate in a ring of your own zones, Reserve, climb and grade, your trail and the way back to the start. Halfway through, one tap tells you to turn back. With Pro, the weather too.
Phone in your pocket
The Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show the time, heart rate, distance, pace and Reserve cost.
One workout, with its route
The Watch saves the walk, so it is not counted twice. You can turn the route off before you start.
What the walk cost
See your Reserve before and after, and how this walk compares with your usual one. The comparison starts after 3 walks.
Your own numbers
Zone 2 time, heart rate drop after 1 minute and cadence, next to your earlier walks.
Recovery next to the walk
Your Recovery appears beside the walk. This shows them side by side, not that one changed the other.
Trends
Pace at the same heart rate, Reserve cost by time of day, heart rate on hills and more.
Breathing, saved as a workout
The guided session now saves a Mind & Body workout to Apple Health, as well as your mindful minutes. Choose 2, 5, 10 or 15 minutes before you start. Start it from the + button, Recover or a widget. It does not count as training, so it adds no load.
On your wrist too
The session also runs on the Watch, and the done screen shows your heart rate at the start and the end.
Works the same
The iPhone saves the workout instead.
The real length
After 1 minute or more, the real length is saved. Under 1 minute nothing is saved.
Often logged together
When you log a meal in parts, Metrya now helps with the next part. Save an item and tap Add another. You then see what you usually log with it. For example, after bread you may see butter or peanut butter.
Learned from your log
Metrya looks at your meals in Apple Health over the last 30 days. Items saved within a few minutes of each other count as one meal.
At least twice
A pair shows only after you logged the two items together at least twice. One tap fills it in with the numbers from last time.
Don’t suggest
Long press a suggestion to hide it. Everything stays on your iPhone.

Fixed. The page of some workouts, such as Outdoor Walk or Cycling, could crash with "this screen stopped working". This came from workouts with climb data and a route but no weather.
Your health data stays on your devices. Walks and meal suggestions are worked out on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Metrya has no server that sees your health data.
