Train your way, and see how hard your heart worked
Metrya 2.12.3 lets you pick a training focus and adds a cardio load to every workout with heart rate. Rest time follows what you lift for, and Worth noticing moves to the top of Today, with fewer false alarms.
Maintain or Build
Pick a training focus on Train, under the Today rings, or on Load & form. Maintain works as before, so nothing changes if you never pick one.
About 10 % more room on top
Today's range gets more room at the top. The minimum and the kind of workout stay the same, so you never have to do more.
How much is left
If you trained but are still below the range, Today says how much is left.
Some days are lighter
Low Recovery, Recovery time, a sudden jump in load, low Reserve or a sick day still set the limit. Today says that today is lighter, and why.
Cardio load for every workout
Every workout with heart rate now has a cardio load. It counts how hard your heart worked, minute by minute. A higher heart rate counts more, so a brisk walk adds more than a slow one, even when both stay in Zone 1.
A page for each workout
Open a workout to see its cardio load on its own page. Drag across the chart to see each minute.
Against your own sessions
Compare a workout with your last sessions like it. Load & form shows a 30-day line with your typical range.
Set your own
If the maximum heart rate estimated from your age does not fit you, you can now set your own on Profile.
Rest time that fits your lifting
When you start a strength session, choose what you are lifting for. The rest timer for new exercises follows your choice. A rest you set yourself on an exercise or a template always stays.
| Lifting for | Big lifts | Smaller lifts |
|---|---|---|
| Strength | 3:00 | 2:30 |
| Muscle (default) | 2:00 | 1:30 |
| Endurance | 1:00 | 0:45 |
Up top, and calmer
Worth noticing is no longer at the bottom of Today.
A small badge on the date line
The badge opens each change, with your usual range and a possible context. In Customize Dashboard you can show a strip of metrics above the date instead.
Only real differences
A change now appears only when the two numbers are really different, and each measure needs a minimum change first. Each change is labelled Small, Clear or Big. SpO₂ is now outside the safe range below 92 %, not 95 %.
Also in 2.12.3
- Weather in Heads up today (Pro): the temperature, what it feels like, humidity, UV, air quality and pollen when it is moderate or higher, with up to 3 short tips in your app's language.
- Sauna and cold plunge: the card shows your minutes in the last 7 days instead of weekly targets of 57 and 11 minutes. Set a personal plan if you want a ring that fills up to it.
- Thermal: logging asks the kind of session and remembers it. The screen is translated and shows your record, 12-week bars and the time of day.
- Context: a ring counts down the days. Prefer one slim line? Pick it in Customize.
- Pop-ups: 17 more now close when you pull the bar at the top down.
- The Workout saved pop-up and Ask about this chart are now in your app's language.
- The screen could stay frozen after closing a pop-up, in rare cases.
- A coffee or other caffeine drink logged from the Caffeine widget now counts toward your water on Today straight away.
- Caffeine from apps like Cronometer no longer counts extra drinks when an entry changes. Amounts under 15 mg, such as chocolate or decaf, still count toward your mg, but not as a drink.
- A real second drink from Apple Health within 30 minutes of the first one could be skipped. It now counts.
- Worth noticing and HRV status now use the same overnight HRV, so they no longer disagree. Seen it no longer loses a change.
- On the Stress card in dark mode, the green and coloured text was hard to read.
- In a strength session, the title, time and heart-rate label at the top could wrap to two lines.
